The Eclipse Project: Making the world safe for developers

Since its founding almost three years ago, the Eclipse project (eclipse.org) has grown at an astounding rate. After a brief overview of the project itself, we'll look at some of the 
more significant tools created by the Eclipse community, talk about where Eclipse is going, and discuss how anyone can enhance and extend the platform. The presentation 
will include demos of several tools and products, including open-source extensions for C++, Perl, Python and PHP. Finally, we'll cover the basics of IBM's Scholars Program, 
a project designed to give away IBM software and courseware to professors and students worldwide.
